Thu, 25th January, 2018 from 1:00 PM, in Lewes
The subject of ageing is not something we talk about very often as it is a process we tend to hide and deny, both as a society and as individuals. It is easy to understand why, given the veneration of youth in the west, and the unwelcome developments that growing older brings, such as increasing physical and mental limitations , as well as losses of various kinds.
At this workshop, which has proved very uplifting in the past, we will explore in some depth our attitude to ageing in ourselves and others, our hopes and our fears, the things we hope to gain as well as what we will lose. We will also discover new ways of equipping ourselves well for what inevitably lies ahead. We will base our discussion on William Bridges model from his book ‘Transitions’ which offers a useful model for navigating such change.
Topics we will cover include
Your personal goals
Metaphors and how they shape our thinking
Introduction to William Bridges Transition model
Personal reflection on the Three Stages
We do hope you will be able to join us and bring your inspiration
