Experiencing and Exploring our Boundaries through the Senses

Sue Holland (the founder of our Devon community) is delighted to be offering this invitation to join us at an event here at Creative Beings (in Devon), led by Alex Staniforth, for a morning of boundary exploration together.

This invitation has come about from Alex’s own observations and experience of the potential for overstimulation, perhaps summed up most visually in the 2022 film ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’. Whilst at the same time, an expectation of efficiency almost everywhere in our culture. He has a desire, through his own deepening practices, to meet these elements differently. Simply put, Alex wants to explore together, ways of staying well and grounded through a series of simple exercises, spaces, and conversations, using the senses to explore the boundaries we might meet every day.

What better way to rekindle the embers of Sadler Heath here at Creative Beings than through being with our senses,  each other and the wider natural world.

You are invited as people who enjoy and recognise that they are responsible for their own long-term development and can be catalysts for change in others, to join us for this Sadler Heath event, on Friday 11^th October at the Creative Beings Studio, The Old Rectory, Awliscombe EX14 3PJ

We have been running these events at Sadler Heath since November 2002, and here in Devon since 2008. Over 700 people have attended them in groups of anything between 10 and 45.  Our sessions are generally very interactive, dynamic events where the quality of the people attending brings huge value to all of us. Participants take responsibility for their own learning, psychological safety, and insights and, respectfully and enthusiastically, contribute to the learning and fulfilment of others here.  We hope you will have a rich and enjoyable experience and come away:

*   Having shared experiences with others who are on similar journeys

*   With further sense-making possible for yourself

*   With some resources to support you in further exploration

*   Connected with other people also committed to their own long-term personal development

For those of you who are new to Sadler Heath, we encourage you to learn a little about it before you come by examining the website http://www.sadlerheath.org to give yourself an idea of what Sadler Heath is all about.  We also have some guidelines about what keeps our sessions a rewarding, safe learning environment which we would ask you to pay attention to.

The event will start promptly at 09.30 (with refreshments available from 09.00) and formal activities will close at 12.30, when a light lunch will be available. You are welcome to stay on into the afternoon to visit our various sustainability / agroecology projects or to enjoy the garden and studio. We ask participants to help us cover the costs of running these events by contributing the fee of £25 pp – if this is a challenge for you, please drop Sue an email.
