“Exploring our Connection with each other through Collaborative Painting and Conversation”

Tunisian Collaborative Painting is an art form developed in Tunisia in the mid-1980s. It is unique in its method of allowing a group of artists to work simultaneously on a canvas without discussion (to begin with!) or planning beforehand. The result is a painting created by a group of individuals that looks like the work of a single artist.

At Sadler Heath, we will paint together using acrylic paints, brushes, conversation and each other to create some pieces of artwork. You do NOT need to think you are an artist and if you have never held a paint brush before, all the better! In addition, we will explore our own process of painting and creating as well as how the connection with each other changes over time.

Luke Palmer was born in Bristol and discovered a gift for engaging the public with his art while he was part of the boom in street art and graffiti in Bristol in the 1990s, using the tag name Acerone. He went on to study visual art at the University of Plymouth, before returning to Bristol to work as a lecturer in art + design with young people with special educational needs. He now runs Collaborative Painting UK as well as continuing his own practice as an artist.
